Kona Cloud Forest Botanical Walk | Print |  E-mail

A surprisingly short distance from the arid coast is a lush forest on the slopes of the sleeping volcano Hualalai. At an elevation of 3,000 feet, we find a private and very special sanctuary that protects plants, birds and the human spirit with its peaceful isolation. As we move quietly through native forest, and through palms, tree ferns, blossoms and bamboo from around the world, our senses are soothed by the cool air, the songs of the birds, and the thousand shades of green the forest displays.

At the beautiful lodge-like home of the landowner, a variety of rescued birds (caged as required by law) display their splendid beauty. Walk on unpaved trails through native forests, and among palm trees, ferns, blossoms and bamboo from around the world. Your guide will provide engaging information about the botanical and geological wonders around you.  A brief stop at a local coffee roasting facility tops off this tour.
