In Hawaii, every plant, stone, person and place has a story. That’s especially so on Kilauea pau ‘ole—without end. While Kilauea intrigues even the uninformed visitor, its riches are truly laid before those who experience it in the company of those who love it and have immersed themselves in its lore. Our team of experts closely monitors the volcanic activity and weather on a daily basis to determine the optimal area for exploration. If you really want to understand the story behind the amazing scenery, this is the hike for you! Your specially-trained naturalist guide will share scientific and mythological accounts of the fantastic terrain, microclimates and biological treasures around you as you pass through craters and rainforest, stand by steam vents, and—literally inside the volcano—walk through a lava tube. Join us for an unforgettably exciting and informative day!
