Dr. Hugh Montgomery, Owner and Quality Assurance Manager of Hawaiian Walkways, is a perpetual hiker and an enthusiastic student of Hawai'i nei. A longtime resident of the island of Hawai'i, he has received national recognition for his advocacy on behalf of its ancient and historic trails, testifying before the U.S. Congress regarding the establishment of Hawai'i's first and only National Trail, the Alakahakai. He's served on the board of several local environmental organizations, such as the trails group, E Mau Na Ala Hele, the Hawai'i Ecotourism Association and the Hawai'i Natural History Association.

Kaulana (the dancer at the right in the photo), President and CEO, brings to Hawaiian Walkways her extensive immersion in the traditional culture of Hawai`i as haumana (student) of two prominent kumu hula (teachers of hula), Roselle Bailey and Michael Pili Pang.
